Comscentre Comets raise money for Diabetes Queensland

A team of enthusiastic staff from the Brisbane office recently challenged themselves by running the Bridge to Brisbane to raise money for Diabetes Queensland. The team now referred to as the Comscentre Comets, raised almost $2,000 from their friends, family and co-workers. The day was a success, with some completing the race with new personal bests and everyone finishing the 10kms. The race started at the southern side of the Eastern Sir Leo Hielscher Bridge, and the route took the team along Kingsford Smith Drive and the Inner City Bypass, towards the city, to finish up at the Ekka showgrounds in Bowen Hills.

Telco Reaches to Aged Care

Leading business telco Comscentre is reaching out to the aged care sector to help improve the level of care available to the elderly.

Comscentre is committed to joining The Grand Plan, a national campaign which aims to increase support and funding to Australia’s rapidly ageing population.

Comscentre business development manager Trent Viengsone said many aged care facilities were running below profit and failing to meet the needs of Australia’s ageing population.

The Internet of Everything

The World is changing ever rapidly in the consumption of data and the use of mobile devices in particular. There are now more devices connected to the Internet than there are people on Earth. Applications are driving consumers and business Worldwide. Unbelievably there is an expectation that 77 Billion applications will be downloaded in 2014!

Cisco calls it the ‘the evolution to the Internet of Everything’ where everything will be connected to the Internet from food wrappers in your fridge to tyre sensors in your car. In 1984 there was a total of 1,000 connected devices on the Internet, Worldwide. In 1992 there was 1 million. By 2020 there will be 50 billion devices connected to the Internet.
